Srinagar: Former India batter Mohammad Kaif has come out in full support of India superstar batter Virat Kohli who has recently faced flak for his low strikerate.
On Sunday, in the IPL game against Gujarat Titans, Kohli took 44 balls to score 70 while his teammate Will Jacks faced 41 delieveries to complete his hundred.
Kohli has so far has amassed 500 runs in 10 matches in the 17th season. He has hit one hundred and four fifties at a strike rate of 147.49. Also Kohli with 7000 runs is the highest in the history of the tournament.
After the game against Gujarat, Virat lashed out at the critics despite his impressive track record.
Meanwhile, Mohammad Kaif coming out in support of Kohli recalled India batters performance against Haris Rauf in the ICC T20 World Cup 2022.
“Virat Kohli once again shows T20 cricket isn’t just about strike rate. To hit Haris Rauf for 6 at World T20 at a packed MCG and finish the game you need Sher ka Jigar not SR. Kohli is in same mode in this IPL,” Kaif wrote on X.
