Sopore, Oct 02: Riding on Meesum Aijaz’s blistering knock, Young Stars Cricket Club Delina defeated Zed G Sports Baramulla by 22 runs in the ongoing Tarzoo T20 Village Level Tournament 2023.
Winning the toss, Young Stars decided to bat first and posted a healthy total of 182/8 on board in their alloted 20 overs. Irshad Bhat scored a well compiled half century(51) as opener while as coming at number eight, Meesum Aijaz smashed the bowlers all over the park and scored quick-fire 53 runs of just 22 balls including 6 mighty sixes and 2 boundaries. For Zed G Sports, Zahid Ayoub took 2 wickets and rest of the bowlers shared 1 wicket each.
Chasing the target, Zed G Sports kept loosing wickets at regular intervals and only managed to score 160/10, thus falling short by 22 runs. Faizan Ibrahim was the top scorer with 43 runs to his name. For Young Stars, Lone Aadil bagged 4 wickets while as Ikhlaq scalped 2 wickets and skipper Ali Mohd and Meesum Aijaz also took 1 wicket each.
Meesum Aijaz was adjudged as player of the match for his scintillating all-round performance.
