J&K Cricket team just finished its T20 season by finishing with three wins and three defeats in the Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 Trophy tournament at Vijaywadha.
For the T20 campaign J&K bring in number of Under-19 and 23 level cricketers and some of them were impressive during the campaign. Though J&K failed to qualify for the knockout stage but there will be a feeling that they did pretty well in the event.
There were number of youngsters who played well like Abdul Samad, Shubham Pundir, Rasikh Salam, Mujtaba Yusuf, Shahrukh Dar and not to mention Jatin Wadhwan who emerged as next big thing of J&K batting.
Abdul Samad showed glimpses of talent but needs to be consistent and stay focused. Mujtaba Yusuf impressed in every match and looks great prospect for the future. Shubham Pundir since his Under-19 days is reckoned highly but has not been able to replicate that talent into figures at senior stage. However, in this series he did played couple of good mature knocks that means he is there to stay. Rasikh Salam who is now a Mumbai Indian’s player in Indian Premier League didn’t had good series but in last match against Manipur he came back strongly. One hopes he keep learning well and turns out as future star of J&K bowling. Sharukh Dar got one match in which he impressed.
Jatin Wadhwan was the standout star of J&K in the T20 event with constant performances up the order. He has once again proved that he has got immense talent and need to be looked after well. He is among top run getters in the Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 Trophy tournament.
All said and done we leave it to you to decide who among all these youngsters impressed you most.
