Minnows Meghalaya on Tuesday crushed J&K by 8 wickets in the first match of the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy at IS Bindra Stadium, Punjab.

The match was reduced to 9 overs a side and J&K made 82 runs after being invited to bat first. Abdul Samad top-scored with an unbeaten 22 off 12 runs.

In response, J&K bowlers were thrashed by Meghalaya batters, led by skipper Punit Bisht. They chased down the total in 7.3 overs with 8 wickets in hand.
