Srinagar: Sunrisers Hyderabad dropped its star pacer Umran Malik from the playing XI against Mumbai Indians as the J&K’s has been leaking runs.
Umran was named as part of the substitute for their fifth game of the Indian Premier League 2023 but wasn’t not used as Abdul Samad came out as impact in second inning.
Washington Sundar replaced Umran in the starting XI after the off-spinner was not included in the team in their win over Kolkata Knight Riders at Eden Gardens.
Malik hasn’t been same in IPL 2023 after a breakthrough performance in 2022.
In the IPL 2024 so far Umran Malik has taken 5 wickets but has conceded runs at an economy of 11.09.
In the previous game against KKR, the rival captain Nitish Rana slammed Malik for 28 runs in an over.
Meanwhile Mumbai Indians beat Sunrisers Hyderabad by 14 runs. Cameron Green was awarded player of the match while as Arjun Tendulkar took his first IPL wicket.
