Srinagar , April 13: Pakistan suffered a crushing defeat against hosts South Africa in second T20 and one the main reasons for Pakistan’s defeat is put on low total posted by visitors . Former Pakistan pacer Shoaib Akhtar has now questioned Babar Azam’s approach during the match.
In the match South Africa beat Pakistan by six wickets. Pakistan scored 140 for 9 in 20 overs. South Africa smashed the required runs for the loss of only four wickets with six overs to spare.
In Pakistan inning , its skipper and star batsman Babar Azam scored run a ball 50 which as per T20 standards is too slow and is now second slowest fifty in T20 cricket by Pakistan batsman .
Akhtar, while speaking on a show on PTV Sports, said that the Pakistan batsman needs to change their approach going forward.

“Our batsmen need to think whether their style of batting and strike-rate is good enough for this format,” Akhtar was quoted as saying .
“If you give 50 balls to Chris Gayle, Virat Kohli or Aiden Markram, what will they do and what did Babar do? Babar is a great player but 50 runs off 50 balls, is not good enough,” Akhtar made it clear about Babar inning .
Akhtar said that T20 cricket demands better strike rahe and continuous flow of runs .
“You can’t go into your shell if wickets are falling at the other end. Babar can compare his innings to Aiden Markram’s innings. Wickets were also falling when Markram was batting but he still continued to play his attacking cricket and scored 54 from 30. Babar is a star player so he needs to come forward and play attacking cricket,” Former Pakistan pacer added.
The third T20I between the two sides would be played at Centurion on Wednesday .
