Srinagar, April 26: Former Pakistan cricketer Shahid Afridi has launched a new cricket league for older players, Mega Stars League (MSL) which is going to be held in September this year.

Speaking during unveiling ceremony of the league, Afridi said that league would be held in a T10 format.

“Mega Star League is an entertaining league, which is scheduled to be played in September in Rawalpindi this year. The core idea behind introducing this league is to financially support the ex-cricketers, athletes, and sports journalists,” Afridi said in a press conference.

Former Pakistan cricketer’s Inzamam-ul-Haq, Waqar Younis, and Mushtaq Ahmed were also present at the event.

“The MSL will feature six teams, and foreign players will also take part in the upcoming league,” he further added.

About his participation in PSL, he said, “PSL is for youngsters and I am not young enough anymore. I, Mushtaq Ahmed, Inzamam-ul-Haq and Waqar Younis will play in MSL”.
