Srinagar: The coach Mehraj ud Din Wadoo led J&K Senior Football team suffered its second consecutive big defeat in the final round of ongoing Santosh Trophy as they were thrashed by Services.
It was second match of the group for J&K Side and they had no answers against multiple time tournament winners Services who outplayed them in every department.
Coming into the game on the back of a defeat to Manipur, Services were dominant from the get-go and led 2-0 at half-time. Lethaolen Khongsai scored the opener in the 11th minute, nodding in a free-kick from captain Christopher Kamei with a back header towards the far post. Sreyas VG made it two by converting a low cross from Alan Thapa with a textbook finish from six yards out.
Jammu & Kashmir had started to find some rhythm as the game progressed but any hopes of a comeback were dashed when Services scored twice in the 53rd and 54th minutes. Rahul Ramakrishnan got on the end of a long ball from Khongsai and calmly slotted it past goalkeeper Nirdosh Sagotra. Thapa then got his second assist of the game as he set up Thingnam Bidyasagar Singh, who cut to his left and drilled it in.
Earlier J&K had suffered 3-1 defeat against West Bengal in its first match.
