Samiullah joins party, scores maiden Ranji 100

Srinagar: Veteran pacer, Samiullah Beigh achieved the millstone of scoring his maiden Ranji trophy hundred as he helped JK earn first inning against services at Jaipur on Sunday.

Beigh who made his way back into Ranji trophy squad this year, joined Ian Dev and Shubham Khajuria in the century list of this match for JK. When JK was in need of the a decent inning to overtake Services first inning score of 477 , Samiullah stepped in and not only helped earn first inning lead points for his but also scored his first Ranji hundred.

It took him 172 deliveries to achieve the millstone that included nine boundaries and four sixes. After 191 overs, JK were on 583 for the loss of eight wickets with. Samiullah was batting on 101 along with Amir Aziz on 38.samiullah-beigh-2

Earlier Parvez Rasool scored 70 runs of 107 deliveries to brush aside any nervousness of JK falling short from Services first inning total of  477.  He smashed two boundaries and one six and used mostly his legs to score runs. Ram Dayal contributed with 36 runs. After Parvez’s fall 449 it was looking JK may fall short of first inning target or may slightly go above that. However, Samiullah joined the act and started smashing Services bowlers to all corners of the field.
