Srinagar: Team India willn’t be travelling to Pakistan for ICC Champions Trophy 2025 but its skipper Rohit Sharma may have to travel to Pakistan before the event.
As per reports Rohit Sharma may be visiting Pakistan ahead of the upcoming Champions Trophy 2025 for a photoshoot ahead of the event.
The hosting nation of any International Cricket Council (ICC) event usually organises a big event featuring all participating captains of the tournament.
This event includes an all-captains photo shoot and a press conference where skippers talk about their expectations from the tournament.
For the Champions Trophy 2025, all eight-nation skippers will take part in this event organised by the ICC.
“The official call on Rohit’s chances of travelling to Pakistan is yet to be announced and Sports Tak doesn’t confirm anything about India’s captain travelling to the neighbouring nation,” report said.
Champions Trophy 2025 is scheduled to start on February 19 when hosts Pakistan will take New Zealand for the opening clash of the tournament.
Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) are the host of the mega event where India will play all their matches in Dubai and other matches will be played in the host nation (Pakistan).
Team India will play their Champions Trophy opener clash against Bangladesh on February 20 at Dubai International Stadium in Dubai.
Dubai will host India’s three group-stage matches and one of the semifinals.
The venue for the final depends on India’s performance in the marquee event. If India manages to feature in the final it will also take place in Dubai otherwise Pakistan will host the title decider.
