Ranji Trophy: Parvez Rasool fights lonely battle as J&K trail by 42

After his heroics with the ball , in which he took 8-wickets, Parvez Rasool is again in the middle for J&K batting on 53 as J&K trail Services by 42 runs in second inning in the Ranji Trophy match at New Delhi on Thursday.

Earlier Services resuming inning from 131/3, got all out for 252 as Parvez Rasool ran through their batting.  Parvez bowled magnanimous 33.4 overs, taking eight wickets. He bowled eight maidens and gave away 85 runs. Amir Aziz and Umar Nazir took one wicket each. It is Parvez’s best match figure in Ranji Trophy cricket. Services earned first inning lead of 157 runs as J&K had got all out for 95 runs in first inning.

Like first inning, J&K struggled in second inning as well. They were struggling on 115/6 in second inning, trailing Services by 42 runs. Parvez Rasool was still in middle fighting lone battle on a knock of 53 from 105 balls. He is with Amir Aziz who is batting on three. For Services, G Pathania has taken three while as S Pandey two. For J&K none of its main batsman were able to contribute big. Ahmad Banday 7, Shubham Khajuria 12, Ian Dev 15, Irfan Pathan 2, Shubham Pundir 11, Obaid Haroon on naught were the batsman who got out.

It is almost lost cause for J&K now. Though they will still hope for any kind of miracle with Parvez still in middle. Trailing by 42 runs they will want to get to that first without any loss of further wickets and from there on they will add whatever they can manage.
