Ranji Trophy: Hyderabadi cricketer Tanmay hospitalised after being hit on head

Tanmay Agarwal, the Hyderabad opener, was rushed to the hospital on Wednesday (November 23) after being hit on the head while fielding at short leg during his side’s Ranji Trophy encounter against Chhattisgarh in Valsad, the Chhattisgarh team manager confirmed to Cricbuzz. Even though he was conscious after being hit, the on-field umpires called for a stretcher after the 21-year-old complained of dizziness.helmet

He was taken to the hospital after the medical staff examined him in the stadium. The incident happened when Chhattisgarh wicketkeeper-batsman Manoj Singh pulled Mehdi Hasan and the ball struck the short leg fielder Agarwal’s helmet. He lay on the floor after initially attempting to take the catch off the rebound.

He scored 39 off 124 balls in the first innings and was involved in a 120-run stand with skipper Subramaniam Badrinath as Hyderabad made 351. He didn’t open the innings and instead came in at No.5 but was dismissed for a five-ball duck.
