Ranji Trophy 2025: J&K Dominate Rajasthan on Day 1, Bowl Out Visitors for 152 in Srinagar

Srinagar, October 25: Jammu and Kashmir produced a brilliant all-round bowling performance to seize control of their Ranji Trophy 2025 Elite Group D clash against Rajasthan, dismissing the visitors for just 152 runs on the opening day at the Sher-i-Kashmir Cricket Stadium.

After winning the toss, J&K skipper Paras Dogra opted to bowl first — and his pacers justified the call with a fiery display. Sunil Kumar was the pick of the bowlers with figures of 4 for 32, while Aquib Nabi (3/29) and Yudhvir Singh Charak (2/48) tore through Rajasthan’s top order.

Rajasthan struggled to recover after a poor start, slumping to 70 for 5 at lunch. Captain Mahipal Lomror held one end together with a composed 37 off 76 balls, while Kartik Sharma (32 off 35) and Deepak Chahar (23 off 32) provided short-lived resistance. However, J&K’s relentless pace attack ensured there was no comeback.

Sunil Kumar cleaned up the tail with two wickets in consecutive deliveries, wrapping up Rajasthan’s innings inside 60 overs.

In reply, Jammu and Kashmir reached 66 for 2 at stumps, still trailing by 86 runs. Openers Kanhaiya Wadhawan and Qamran Iqbal gave the hosts a steady start before both were dismissed late in the day.

With a strong batting lineup to follow and home advantage in their favor, J&K will aim to build a commanding first-innings lead when play resumes on Day 2.
