
Srinagar, July 18: In the tough times owing to global pandemic of Coronavirus that has brought whole World to it’s knees and all sports activities to halt, a group of Kashmir sportspersons have started COVID-19 awareness campaign, starting the initiative from border town of Uri.

The group that includes Qudsiya Altaf from football, Soliha from rugby, Danish, Aqsa, Zain , Hashim from Taekwondo, Farkhandha Khan from cricket joined by Hadi Zahoor a Law student have formed an NGO named Hope Alive.

The group has started it’s campaign from Uri. They will be staying in the town for three days through which they will be making locals aware about the importance of wearing masks, having sanitizers and also maintaining social distance.

“We got great support from COVID 19 incharge Uri and SDM Uri . This drive is going on in whole Uri and it will run for three days, ” Aid Farkhandha.
“During we check temperature, distribute masks and sanitizer and give them briefings of COVID19 and how important is it to maintain social distance and wear mask. Till now we have distributed 2500 mask and sanitizers in Uri, ” She added.
