Pakistan mountaineer Shehroze Kashif summits Dhaulagiri, becomes youngest to scale 12, 8000 mtr peaks  

Srinagar: Pakistan young mountaineer Shehroze Kashif is right on track to achieve historic milestone of scaling all 14 , 8000 metre high peaks of the World after successfully summiting Mount  Dhaulagiri, Nepal on Wednesday. With that Shehroze Kashif become the youngest mountaineer in the World to climb 12 peaks above 8,000 meters at the age of 21. 

The 21-year-old Shehroz Kashif is the second Pakistani who has climbed 12 out of 14 peaks higher than 8,000 meters. Sirbaz Ali Khan from Hunza Valley previously climbed the 12 highest peaks.

Shehroze, wants to make the record of climbing all the 14 highest peaks at the youngest age. To achieve this record, he has to climb two peaks in China, Chu Ayo and Shishapangma.

By climbing Dhaulagiri today, Shehroze also broke Mingma‘s record to become the youngest mountaineer to climb the 12 highest peaks.

Shehroze, who summited Broad Peak at the age of 17, is also the youngest climber to summit K2 and Kanchan Junga.

After summiting Broad Peak in 2019, Shehroze scaled Mount Everest in 2021 at the age of just 19, becoming the youngest Pakistani to reach the top of the world’s highest mountain. In the same year, he summitted K2 and Manaslu.

Last year, he climbed Kanchenjunga, Lhotse, Makalu, Nanga Parbat, Gasherbrum I and Gasherbrum II. Earlier this year, he climbed Mount Annapurna in Nepal and now he has taken another step towards his goal by climbing Dhaulagiri.
