Jammu and Kashmir’s Umran Malik on Sunday continued to warm the benches as South Africa won the toss and opted to field first in the fifth T20I at Bengaluru.
Umran became just the second J&K cricketer to eqn an India call-up but like his predecessor Parvez Rasool, he wasn’t provided an opportunity to feature in the playing XI.
The series stands levelled with both India and South Africa having won two matches each. The Rishabh Pant-led Indian side went unchanged i all the five T20Is in the series.
Many thought Umran, who came into focus for his pace, might make his international debut in this series, however, the youngster will have to wait for his opportunity.
Umran picked 22 wickets IPL 2022, ending up winning emerging player of the tournament award.
