Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA) on Saturday added left-arm spinner Rithik Singh to J&K’s Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy squad.
As per KSW’s sources, Rithik has joined the team today in Chandigarh, becoming the 17th player in the squad.
It has come as a surprise inclusion since J&K already had a 16-member squad– one extra player from most of the teams.
Rithik had done well in the Talent Hunt tourneys held by JKCA, earning him the maiden call-up to state team. But his last-minute inclusion has come as a surprise.
KSW tried to reach JKCA Senior Men’s Chairman Selection Committee, Vidya Bhaskar, for confirmation on Rithik’s inclusion but his phone was out of reach. We also tried getting in touch with team’s co-manager, who is yet to respond.
As and when we receive a response, the story will be updated.
