National Games: Ashish win Gold for J&K in Taekwon-do

Srinagar: Ashish Muwal has secured gold medal for J&K in the 38th National Games Uttarakhandh 2025 in the Taekwon-do discipline.

Ashish Muwal competing in the 74 kilogram category in Kyorugi, defeated Services player in the final by 2-0 to win gold. On way to final, Ashish Muwal defeated players from Rajasthan and Uttarakahndh while as got bye in first fight.

With this gold J&K now have total of 9 medals which include three gold, two silver and four bronze medals. They now have 7 medals in Wushu, 1 in Archery and 1 in Taekwon-do.  Currently J&K occupy 22nd place on medal table.

Meanwhile J&K Sports Council has congratulated Ashish for the historic gold, “ Congratulations to Ashish Muwal for securing a historic gold medal in taekwondo at the 38th National Games! This remarkable achievement is a testament to his hard work and dedication,” Sports Council post reads on Facebook.
