My wish .. to get it done by Babar, Rizwan: Sajid Khan on ‘dream’ celebration

Srinagar: Pakistan spinner Sajid Khan is on cloud nine these days after another terrific match outing as Pakistan beat West Indies in first Test in Multan.
In the match Sajid claimed nine wickets to bag player of the match award and was joined by star batter Babar Azam and wicketkeeper batter Mohammad Rizwan in his dream wish by replicating the spinner’s iconic celebration.

The incident happened after Pakistan completed a 127-run victory over the visitors as Babar and Rizwan joined Sajid to replicate his famous celebration.

The right-arm spinner had earlier wished to make Babar and Rizwan replicate his celebration by taking a five-wicket haul in the second innings.

“Everybody does my celebration, from the kids in the crowd to Kamran Ghulam in the dressing room. My wish is to get it done by Babar and Rizwan if I take five wickets in the next innings,” Sajid had said.

Sajid, who has been Pakistan’s lethal force with the ball since the three-match home series against England in October last year, achieved a milestone during the aforementioned fixture.

The right-arm spinner claimed his 50th Test wicket in the match, etching his name in the record books. He reached this landmark after dismissing West Indies captain Kraigg Brathwaite.

His 50th wicket places him among the fastest bowlers from Pakistan to achieve the milestone, doing so in just his 11th Test match.

The 31-year-old’s feat earned him the distinction of being the third-fastest Pakistani bowler to take 50 Test wickets.

The record for the fastest to reach the mark belongs to leg-spinner Yasir Shah, who achieved it in only nine matches.
