Srinagar: In just a few years, Mountaineer and Athlete Zahid Rafiq Kota has achieved the extraordinary — completing his 150+ Alpine Lakes milestone while exploring the Nagendar Lakes of Warwan on 10th August 2025.
A founding member of Badamwari Athletes — an inspiring group from Downtown Srinagar that promotes trekking, fitness, and environmental care — Zahid has been motivating youth to live healthy, adventurous, and purposeful lives.
From rugged trails to hidden heavens, his journey is a story of endurance, discipline, and passion, setting new benchmarks in Alpine exploration and inspiring generations to come.
Despite starting late, Zahid’s determination and love for the mountains pushed him achieve this milestone and also to complete Basic Mountaineering Course from JIM Pahalgam recently.
