Srinagar, Dec 10: Moomin Khan emerged winner in the Indian Physique Alliance Powerlifting Competition held under the banner of Golden Brands at Rajouri Kadal Srinagar recently.

This competition saw 113 players participating and also saw many athletes like cyclists, footballers, wushu, archery, Table Tennis Champions, participating.

All the players tested their enthusiasm and strength, and tried their best to win this title, this competition was played for two days. But it Momin Khan who made the title his own, and became the champion of the Indian Physique Alliance, a statement issued by Golden Brands read.

Momin Khan performed 135 kg bench press, 205 kg squats and 260 kg deadlift. But the champion also did a fourth lift, in which he did a 270kg deadlift, a commendable power, statement said.

On the other hand, the 1st runners-up also showed great skill. Among them, Muhammad Ammar lifted 85 kg bench press, 140 kg squats, 195 kg lifts. Inayatullah Khan, the second runner-up, lifted 130 kg bench press, 165 kg squats and 200 kg deadlift. In addition, Showkat Ahmed of North Kashmir addressed the highest bench press in his name. In the bench press, he lifted 180 kg, which was the highest lift in this competition. In Squats, Momin Khan lifted 205 kg, but no athlete could reach there. The fourth lift in the deadlift. He lifted 270 kg. Everyone was surprised by this lift.

Many prizes were also distributed by Indian Physique Alliance a concern association of Sheru Classic , including Cash prizes, LED TV’S, Biofit Watches, Supplements Food coupons, and Gift Items. All the players and spectators said that till date we have not seen such a big trophy in the whole of Jammu and Kashmir.

In the Athletes category, Hamid Qazi competed, lifting 105 kg bench press, 125 kg squats, 185 kg deadlift. In the same category, Zahoor Ahmed lifted 110 kg bench press, 150 kg squats, 190 kg deadlift, and secured second position. For the third position, Junaid Hameed lifted 110 kg bench press, 145 kg squats, 225 kg deadlift, and the famous cyclist of the valley in the same category, Akbar Khan took the fourth position.

Gazanfar Ali, Commissioner, Municipal Corporation, and Bashir Ahmed Lone, Vice Chairman, Srinagar Development Authority, were chief guests. Momin Khan, who won first place in the cash prize, was given a cheque of Rs 20,000, first runner-up Muhammad Ammar was given a cheque of Rs 10,000 and second runner-up Inayatullah Khan was given a cheque of Rs 5,000.

Similarly, Hamid Qazi, who won the first position in the athletes category, was presented a cheque for Rs 5,000. All the athletes said that for the first time in Kashmir, power lifting has been given through Indian Physique Alliance. Asif Rashid, the owner of Golden Brands, has promised to hold such events in the future as well.
