
Srinagar, May 13: Pakistan’s now retired left arm pacer Mohammad Amir has opened up about his plans on getting British Citizenship and possibility of playing in Indian Premier League (IPL).
In an interview with PakPasssion.net Amir has said that he has got extension in his stay in Britain and his kids would get thier education in Britain.
“At the moment I’ve been granted indefinite leave to remain in the United Kingdom. I’m enjoying my cricket these days and plan to play for another 6 or 7 years so let’s see how things go,” Amir told Pak Passion.

“My children will grow up in England and receive their education there so no doubt I will be spending a fair amount of time there,” he further replied.
“At the moment, I’ve not really thought about the other possibilities and opportunities available and how things will turn out when I receive British citizenship in the future,” Amir further added.
Amir had cited ‘mental torture’ as the reason to quit international cricket in December 2020. He represented Pakistan in 36 Tests, 61 ODIs, and 50 T20Is.
Earlier, Azhar Mahmood participated in the IPL after holding British citizenship. He was part of the Kings XI Punjab (now Punjab Kings) and Kolkata Knight Riders franchise.
