Miserly economical bowling and crucial cameos, Parvez Rasool’s ‘new’ T20 role for J&K

J&K skipper, Parvez Rasool has not been at his best in the current Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 Trophy tournament so far but his contributions in each match has been more than valuable for the team.

So far, J&K has been able to win two matches and face defeat in two. In each match Parvez has bowled brilliantly, except one match against Jharkhand. Even in that match, he went for runs in his last over while trying get breakthrough-wicket.

As for batting he has not made big scores, but struck with those handy cameos in the middle-order. After not getting to bat in the first match, he made 24 and 17 runs respectively in the following two matches. While scored crucial 31 runs in J&K’s win with Andhra Pradesh.

Similarly, in bowling, he scalped a brace in first while went wicket-less in the later two and ending up with a wicket in last one. Despite not been amongst the wickets, he has kept it tight and made it quite tough for batsmen to score.

As J&K takes Kerala tomorrow, they would be hoping for some magic from their skipper.
