Srinagar: Six wicket haul by pacer Mehjoor Sofi helped Jammu and Kashmir State Sports Council (JKSSC) XI to register a comfortable 54 run victory over Simula Cricket Club in the semi-final of Chief Minister’s Cup played at Jammu.
Chasing a target of 189 SCC was never in the hunt as first class cricketer, Mehjoor Ali Sofi, who scalped six wickets for 40 runs and rattled the top batting order of SCC team.
SCC batsmen threw away their wickets courtesy poor shot selection and the entire team was shunted out for 135.
Mehjoor for his devastating bowling performance was declared man of the match. Sofi has claimed 16 wickets in the tournament.
Earlier batting first, JKSSC XI put a formidable total of 189 on the board. Both Abid Nabi and Manzoor Dar scored 51 runs each for JKSSC.
For SCC,Satish Kumar was the pick of the bowlers claiming five wickets.
