Mehjoor Sofi claims to be overlooked, Stats prove him wrong

Mehjoor Sofi has claimed that JKCA has been neglecting him over and again, however, when considering figures/Statistics, it seems the pacer has failed to pick wickets whenever given the chance at the highest level.

The right-arm seamer has one First-class and two T20 wickets at the dismal average of 72 and 31 respectively. Though owns considerably better List-A figures with 6 wickets in 5 matches at an average of 31.

Pertinently, with Mohammed Mudhasir and Umar Nazir having been performing brilliantly, it’s quite undone to claim nepotism in bowling department.

In domestic cricket Mehjoor Ali has emerged as one of the top stars over the years but he has failed to carry on that performance in National level against the better opposition. With there being a tough competition in pace department of J&K, Mehjoor cant claim that he is getting hard deal in selection with such a figures backing his claim.

For a sensible cricketer like him, netter would have to go on for trials and perform. And if after performing well he wouldn’t have been selected then every justification would have been given why he was dropped or not selected.

Here are two cases, the stats of the pacer doesn’t support him and by opting not to go for trials, he has undone himself.

Note: This series of articles in which we highlight stats of the cricketers doesn’t mean to Degrade the Cricketers but to give them reality check and push them to work hard. They are our assets and represent State at National level, they need to work hard and make us Proud.
