Mamnet snow trekking conducted by Islamia College

Department of Physical Education of Islamia College Srinagar organized one day snow trekking trip on Satuday   the 23rd February, for its adventure club students to Mamnet meadow.

The trekking group was flagged off by Prof. Yaseen Ahmed Shah the Principal of the college at 8.00 am in the morning.

The party of 15 students and 5 staff members under the supervision of Dr. Altaf ur Rehman, Director Physical Education of the college started trekking at 8.40 a m from Fakir Gujri area of Harwan, in the snow clad hillock up to Mamnet. Traversing through moderate but snowclad trail, the party reached Mamnet, which is about 4 to 7 ft under snow, at 12:00 noon.

 After spending about 2 hours at the top the college trekkers enjoyed the natural beauty of their beloved motherland to the maximum because of clear skyline. The party started return journey at 3.00 p m and reach the college safe and sound at 5.30 pm.
