Srinagar, December 6: In the backdrop, recent brutal lynching of Sri Lankan National in Sialkot , Pakistan, the Sri Lanka Cricket Board has tightened the security protocol around Pakistan cricketers participating in ongoing Lanka Premier League (LPL) 2021, the Pakistan based Geo News reported.

A total of nine Pakistani cricketers which includes Mohammad Hafeez, Muhammad Umar, Shoaib Malik, Wahab Riaz, Sohaib Maqsood, Anwar Ali, Muhammad Irfan, Usman Shinwari, and Ahmed Shahzad are taking part in the Lanka Premier League which starts December 5.

The tournament is taking place in the Colombo and Hambantota. The league matches will be played in Colombo while the play-offs are scheduled to take place in Hambantota.

The tournament will end on December 23.
