Kashmir’s Mujtaba Yousuf missed out as Kolkata Knight Riders on Monday announced KC Cariappa as the replacement of injured Shivam Mavi for the upcoming season of Indian Premier League (IPL).
The Shahrukh Khan co-owned team witnessed a major setback recently with two of its local seamers been ruled out of the tournament due to injuries.
The franchise then called some boys for the trials to hunt for the replacement including Jammu and Kashmir pacer, Mujtaba Yousuf. Lately, they replaced Kamlesh Nagarkoti with Sandeep Warrier while brought in Bangalore spinner, KC Cariappa in place of Mavi.
Mujtaba had earned the trial call-up largely due to his impressive debut stint for Jammu and Kashmir in Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy.
The twelfth edition of Indian Premier League (IPL) is all set to start from March 23 which defending champions, Chennai Super Kings taking on Royal Challengers Bangalore in the opener.
