NEW YORK: WWE icon and current Intercontinental Champion John Cena is set to make his final appearance on Monday Night Raw at Madison Square Garden on November 17, signalling what he describes as the “end of an era” in professional wrestling.

The 17-time world champion, who officially retires from in-ring competition on December 13, urged fans worldwide not to miss his last ever performance on the flagship WWE show. Cena took to social media platform X (formerly Twitter) to make an emotional announcement, confirming that he will no longer compete after the episode.

“Tomorrow night on Netflix is the end of an era in WWE. Don’t miss the final episode of #WWERaw you will ever see me perform in. No better stage than the iconic Madison Square Garden … The Last Time is Now because after this, I can’t wrestle,” wrote Cena.

WWE Raw General Manager Adam Pearce confirmed that Cena will kick off the show live from the historic New York venue, which has hosted some of the most memorable and defining moments in WWE history.

Career Milestone Before Retirement

During the most recent episode of Raw, Cena added yet another historic achievement to his legendary record by capturing the Intercontinental Championship for the first time. The victory over Dominik Mysterio officially made him the 25th WWE Superstar to complete the coveted Grand Slam, having previously held the WWE, United States and Tag Team Championships.

His latest championship run has also paved the way for a new tournament aimed at selecting the final challenger for Cena’s last professional match, forming part of his highly-celebrated farewell tour — an honourable send-off to a career defined by passion, longevity, and global impact.

With unmatched popularity and legacy spanning more than two decades, Cena’s “last Raw” promises to be a landmark moment in sports entertainment history.
