Shubham Pundir-led Team D produced a clinical all-round performance to defeat Abdul Samad’s Team C in Monday’s first match of the ongoing JKCA T20 trial matches at Sher-e-Kashmir Stadium. The win was set up by a fiery spell from Umran Malik and sealed by blistering knocks from Dikshant Kundal and Vivrant Sharma
Batting first, Team C posted a competitive total of 184 runs, with Ahmad Banday top-scoring with a fluent 65. He was supported by Abdul Samad (35) and Sahil Lotra, who contributed around 35 to 40. But their momentum was disrupted by the pace of Umran Malik, who picked up three wickets and kept the batters in check with his trademark aggression.
In reply, Team D made the chase look effortless. Dikshant Kundal and Vivrant Sharma went on the attack from the word go, putting Team C’s bowling under immense pressure. Dikshant hammered 90 runs, while Vivrant made 70, as Team D chased down the target in just 15 overs.
The scores are approximate, collected by KSW through sources, as JKCA doesn’t release official figures.
The JKCA T20 trials, featuring players shortlisted through open trials across Jammu and Kashmir divisions, will conclude tomorrow.
