J&K suffers 3rd consecutive defeat as Nagaland beats them by 6 runs

Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday suffered third consecutive defeat with Nagaland pipping them by 6 runs in the ongoing Senior Women’s T20 Trophy.

Batting first, Nagaland put on a competitive total of 124 runs on board. Yashi Pandey made run-a-ball 60 runs and SK Raut struck unbeaten 33 off 22 balls for them.

For J&K, Sarla Devi was pick of the bowlers with a spell of 4-7-1 to her name. Most of the other bowlers conceded a lot of runs, especially Chitra Jamwal who leaked 36 off her 4 overs.

In reply, J&K batters yet again produced a dismal show. Opener Shivanti continued her poor run, scoring 8 off 10. Anju Tomar, however, showed a bit of intent this time, making 22 off 16.

Chitra Jamwal once again took 42 balls for her 35, an innings that lacked intent. Other batters too returned with miserable numbers as J&K ended up with 118/9 in the 20 overs, falling short of 6 runs.

After winning the first match against Arunachal Pradesh, J&K has suffered three back-to-back losses in the tournament so far.
