Srinagar: Afghanistan and Lucknow Super Giants pacer Naveen ul Haq has opened up on his fight against Team India star batter Virat Kohli during IPL 2023.
During IPL 2023, Virat Kohli was involved with altercation with LSG Mentor Gautam Gambhir and pacer Naveen ul Haq.
After a long now, Naveen ul Haq has opened up on the controversial moment , blaming Virat Kohli for starting the fight.
“Since I started my career, I never sledge anyone, but if someone tries to mess with me, I do not hold back, irrespective of who is in front of me. Once the match ended, after shaking hands with Kohli, I was going towards other players to shake hands, which is when Virat held my hand, which is why I had to pull his hand,” Naveen ul Haq was quoted as saying.
“If you look at the video, the match referee was also there, I had maintained my patience, but the fines imposed on us are proof of who started first,” Naveen said.
While Virat Kohli was fined 100 percent match fee, Naveen got slammed with a 50% match fee cut.
Recently, Gambhir had also opened up on the incident where he revealed that Naveen was right, as Virat sledged him, which resulted in a heated argument.
“I supported Naveen, as he was right. It is not just about Naveen, but I will continue to support anyone who is correct.”
