Srinagar, October 13: An all-round performance by Imran Haji and Nasir Lone’s unplayable bowling spell Tuesday powered Bandipora ‘A’ to a big win against Bandipora ‘B’ in the ongoing inter-district tourney at Sher-e-Kashmir Stadium, here.
Haji, a promising young cricketer, first made 44 runs with the bat and later scalped a couple of wickets as well. Nasir Lone, on the other end, took a six-wicket-haul.
Earlier, after finding luck with the coin, Bandipora ‘B’ decided to bowl first, thinking the pitch will favour seamers. They did find success as they picked early wickets.
However, opener, Imran Haji kept resisting despite constant fall of wickets from the other end. Lastly, Parvez, a power striker, gave the finishing touch to the innings as he made quick 56 runs, helping Bandipora ‘A’ post a total of 186 runs.
For Bandipora ‘B’, Parvaiz Rashid picked a three-for and Zubair took one wicket.
In reply, thanks to Nasir Lone’s superb bowling, Bandipora ‘B’ batsmen seemed to have no answers whatsoever. Nasir kept taking wickets, one after another, leaving opposition in shatters.
Mudasir Dar was the only batter who made a cameo of 33 runs as Bandipora ‘B’ was rattled on 71 runs. Joining the party, Imran Haji, bowling off-spin, took two wickets while Manzoor Pandav also scalped a solitary wicket, making sure Bandipora ‘A’ runs away with 115-run win.
