Srinagar: Former Pakistan cricket team captain Shahid Afridi has said that Team India has potential to win the T20 World Cup but outside India they dont have such a great record.
India are set to take on Bangladesh on Wednesday in its next match of T20 World Cup. Team India had suffered defeat against South Africa in its last match.
On a Pakistan channel, Sama Tv , Shahid Afridi was asked if India, along with New Zealand and England, should be considered among the strongest teams in the ongoing T20 World Cup 2022, to which former Pakistan cricketer responded by saying that the India have never recorded big wins away from home.
“India jis tarah upar jaa rahi hai, ahista ahista, yeh kuch bhi kar sakti hai. Mere khayal main as such India se bahar nikal kar koi as such bohot achhi koi record ya performances nahi hai. Bare matches main jis tarah se upar jaate rahenge, let’s see, abhi baaki hai, but agar unlogo ki bowling aur batting ki baat ki jaye then no doubt achhi team hai, balanced team hai,” Afridi said on Sama TV.
(The way India are progressing in the competition anything can happen. It’s not that they have a very good record or performances outside India. Let’s see, but they do have a balanced team.),” he said.
Afridi had recently roasted former India spinner Amit Mishra for trolling Babar Azam.
