Srinagar: Pakistan skipper Babar Azam on Thursday gave savage reply to a journalist in post match press conference related to a criticism by a Pakistani journalist of Babar Azam.
A senior Pakistan journalist Aftab Iqbal had recently criticised Babar Azam on a YmTV show terming Babar egoistic.
During the press conference following Pakistan’s 7 wicket win over Bangladesh, Babar was asked about dealing with criticism about his leadership in light of a viral video in which Aftab Iqbal criticized his performance.
“I don’t know who you are talking about. I don’t even know him,” the Pakistan captain replied.
“See, such things happen in every situation, whether you lose or win. We remain ready for such things after a bad performance and it does not bother us,” Babar said.
Babar stated that despite criticism, they strive to maintain unity among players.
“We just try to maintain the unity within our team and give players confidence. In every match, we try to give our 100% and win it. Sometimes you aren’t up to the mark, and for that, we sit and discuss,” he shared.
In a video that had gone viral on social media, veteran journalist Iqbal accused captain Babar of having ego issues.
“Babar is no more a star for me. Not because he dropped catches but because of his ego issues with players.
