Hafeez’s bowling action retested in Brisbane

KARACHI: Experienced Pakistan all-rounder Mohammad Hafeez on Thursday underwent a bowling action retest at the ICC-accredited biomechanics lab in the Australian city of Brisbane.

Hafeez, 36, after the test expressed hope that he will be cleared to bowl in international cricket.

According to sources, off-spinner Hafeez bowled three overs during the test.hafeez

The national selectors are keen to recall Hafeez into the national side currently touring New Zealand and Australia, sources in the PCB said.

It may be mentioned that the ICC last year suspended Hafeez from bowling in international cricket after his action was found illegal.

Hafeez’s bowling action test was delayed for a few months after the player was injured during Pakistan’s tour to England early this year.

Subsequently, the all-rounder with an experience of 50 Tests, 177 ODIs and 77 T20 Internationals under his belt, was not picked for the series against the West Indies (held in the UAE) and the ongoing Test rubber in New Zealand.
