GDC Ganderbal defeated GDC Pattan by 7 wickets in the last match of the first round of inter college cricket rolling trophy being played at Islamia College play ground.
After the players of both the teams were introduced to the Principal Islamia College Prof. Shiekh Aijaz Bashir, the Pattan captain chose to bat first after winning the toss. They scored 105 runs all out in alloted 20 overs. Zahid with 35 runs was the prominent run getter for his team. Irfan Majeed took 3 and Mohammad Hussain 1 wicket for Ganderbal College. GDC Ganderbal got the required runs in 17.3 overs for the loss of 3 wickets. Umar Farooq got 25 and Aqib Javaid 24 runs respectively. Mashooq, Zakir and Basit took 1 wicket each for Pattan college. In the after match ceremony, Senior faculty member Prof. Aijaz Bhat gave away the Man of the match award to Mr. Irfan of GDC Ganderbal for his outstanding bowling performance. The tournament which is being sponsored by J&K Higher Education Department is organized by the Department of Physical Education The Islamia College of Science and Commerce. On Tuesday the 25th February, the host college will play GDC Sumbal in the first quarter final.
