Former Indian cricketer slams R Ashwin, says he didn’t receive his calls, texts

Former Indian cricketer Laxman Sivaramakrishnan reignited controversy by publicly criticizing off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin. Sivaramakrishnan claimed Ashwin ignored his attempts to congratulate him on reaching his 100th Test match milestone.

Taking to social media, Sivaramakrishnan stated he tried calling Ashwin “a few times” and sent him a message to congratulate him, but received no response. He expressed his disappointment, claiming this lack of response reflects the “respect we former cricketers get.”Sivaramakrishnan also addressed his past comments regarding Ashwin’s bowling action, clarifying they were not intended as criticisms but suggestions for improvement. He further stated, “If only people understood.”This incident is not the first time Sivaramakrishnan has targeted Ashwin. He has previously questioned Ashwin’s bowling performance and loyalty, accusing him of benefiting from pitches prepared to favor him in India while struggling overseas. He has also used terms like “selfish stats player” and questioned his loyalty based on sponsorship changes.Sivaramakrishnan’s public pronouncements and history of criticism raise questions about his true intentions behind the attempt to connect with Ashwin.
