Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association is all set to organise a cricket tournament cum selection trials in the Ladakh region for the first time in history.
A total of 15 teams from the region will participate in the tournament which begins from tomorrow at Leh.
The region hasn’t been indulged in any of the cricket activities before, and JKCA took this step to ensure the talent doesn’t go waste from this area.
The selection committee headed by Abdul Qayoom Bagaw, former veteran cricketer and Aijaz Murli landed Leh yesterday and have already started the proceedings.
“It’s a revolutionary step and we are looking forward to witness some new talent from this region,” Abdul Qayoom told KSW.
He thinks, this step is both helpful for J&K cricket and this region,
“It’ll surely help J&K cricket as well the Ladakh region. We will try our best to make most of this event,” He said.
Since JKCA has been taken over by the supreme court appointed administrators, the cricket in state is taking new heights.
