Srinagar, May 20: An Egyptian football player, Mahrous Mahmoud, has turned into a street vendor, owing to the income crisis brought by the coronavirus pandemic.
At the time when he could have been playing for his club, he is preparing pancake-like pastry to earn a living, Associated Press reported.
With every sports event shutting down, Mahmoud has been left with no other choice to feed his family.
“I should do any kind of work to help feed them,” he told AP.
The promising footballer sells these pencakes to people at streets of Egypt, who usually eat them on opening their fast in the evening.
“Nobody is immune,” he said. “But those like me and my family have to survive.”
