Srinagar April 16; Department of Youth Services & Sports, District Srinagar today organized and conducted Yoga championship at Women’s College M A Road Srinagar.

The event was conducted at Inter School District Level for Girl Students upto 19 years of age. Before competitions were started, a mass display was organized and students exhibited many Asnas and postures in a synchronized manner. Soon after the mass display, competitions in the age groups of under 14, 17 & 19 years where conducted by the experts of the department.

Dr Nasreen Amaan, Principal Women’s College Srinagar graced the occasion as Chief Guest. Addressing the participants, Chief Guest encouraged the girls for their exemplary display of flexibility and energy during the event. She advised the participants to take active part in Sports and Games and excel in the field.

The participating Girl students represented 8 physical education zones of District Srinagar. The activities are in full swing across the district in different disciplines viz Kabaddi, Kho-Kho, Volleyball, Chess, and Carom etc. for the session. The department is getting huge response from student players this year keeping in view that the schools were thrown fully open by UT Administration for students after a gap of approximately 30 months.
