Srinagar: Delhi Public School Srinagar shined during the Khelo India Winter Games Gulmarg by bagging five medals during the event held from March 7 to 11.

The 5-day event was held under the auspices of Jammu and Kashmir Sports Council in a bid to promote the development of sports. More than 30 events including snowboarding, snow skiing, cross country and snow show were held in which players from across India participated. Putting in a stellar effort Syed Zain of the school secured two Gold Medals in the U-17 Gents Slalom and Slalom races, while Rubab secured silver and bronze in the U-19 category and Ayza won a silver in the U-14 category.

Congratulating the winners, the principal Alistair R.A Freese said, “The indefatigable spirit of our students amazes and inspires me in equal measure. Nothing dampens their spirit, and it is a tribute to the environment the school cultivates where adversity is treated as an opportunity.” Chairman Vijay Dhar also complimented the medal winners on their achievement and wished “The school to forever continue to lead us into annals of glory and success. I dedicate the success of our athletes to the teachers who work behind the scenes to catapult them to glory. Congratulations to all.”
