Bandipora: The District Bandipora Wushu Championship 2023 organised by District Wushu Association Bandipora started at Govt. Hr. Secondary school Ajas, Bandipora on Monday.
The championship, organized under the patronage of the Wushu Association of Jammu and Kashmir and is being conducted in collaboration with District Administration Bandipora under Nashamukht Bharat Abhiyan.
This event witnessed an impressive turnout of approximately 330 participants, including both boys and girls from all age categories representing different clubs and schools of District Bandipora.
The opening ceremony of the event was graced by the presence of esteemed guests and dignitaries. Chief Guest, Nodal officer Coordination District Administration Bandipora , Mohd Ashraf Hakak, inaugurated the championship. Accompanying him was the Guest of Honor, Principal Govt. Hr. Secondary school Ajas Bandipore, Nazir Ahmad wani. The occasion was further honored by the presence of Padmashree Awardee Fasil Ali dar and other notable personalities.
In his address to the participants, Chief Guest emphasized the global popularity of Wushu as a sport. He expressed his delight at the decision to hold the championship in Ajas Bandipora, recognizing its potential to encourage youth participation in sports and steer them away from negative influences. Ashraf Hakak conveyed his heartfelt congratulations to the organizing committee for their exceptional efforts in hosting this event.
The District Bandipora wushu Championship 2023 promises to be an exhilarating display of talent, determination, and sportsmanship. Over the course of the tournament, participants will compete fiercely, showcasing their skills in various weight categories and disciplines.
