Brics Games: Surya Bhanu Partap Singh left for Kazan


Srinagar: The 16 Member Indian Wushu team left for the BRICS Games scheduled to be held at Kazan (Russia) from 11-17th June 2024.

The Indian Wushu team was shortlisted by the technical committee of the Wushu Association of India at Jammu. Surya Bhanu Partap Singh (Asian Games Medalist) is the only athlete from the J&K participating in the Games at Kazan.

Surya Bhanu is the First Asian Games medalist of the J&K and has a number of medals to his feather at the highest level of the Championships. The team will leave for the Games today and will report back on 18th June. Surya Bhanu partap. Lat year Bhanu Partap singh secured Gold in the National Games and 5th Place in the 19th Asian Games at Hangzhou.

The Wushu Association of J&K President Vijay Saraf and General Secretary Bhavneet congratulated Surya Bhanu partap for the selection in the games and wished him all the very best for the Games. Secretary J&K Sports Council also congratulated Surya Bhanu partap for the feat and wished him all the very best for the BRICS Games .Kuldeep Handoo (Dronacharya Awardee) and National Chief Coach of India  wished all the vert best to the Indian Wushu team participating in the BRICS Games and hoped that Indian Wushu team  will come with colors and make the tricolor high in the Games.
