Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is set to look out for bowlers across India with a new bowling talent hunt programme.
The bowlers between the age of 18 and 23 will be sought and then put under the supervision of National Cricket Academy (NCA) coaches.
This step has been taken to ensure India’s bench strength in bowling is improved since lack of top-notch bowlers has been a major concern for India.
“It was felt that we need to have bench strength in the bowl bowling department to win Tests, hence the need for this move,” TOI quoted a BCCI source as saying.
Fitness will be the major criterion for all the players as BCCI looks to further improve the fitness standards.
