Bandipora Gymkhana back, starts with a dominant win in Bandipora Cup

The duo of Adnans steered Bandipora Gymkhana to a commanding win over Khoyihami Cricket Club in the ongoing Bandipora Cup at Sher-e-Kashmir Stadium, Bandipora.

Bandipora Gymkhana is a cricket club by the youth, for the youth, launched to give the district’s young talent a platform to showcase their skills at a time when most other clubs are prioritising revenue over player growth.

Batting first, Gymkhana got off to a brilliant start with Aamir displaying his attacking flair, scoring 55 off just 31 balls. Then 13-year-old Adana Tariq took charge.

The youngster impressed everyone with a well-made unbeaten 41 at such a young age. Auzair Ashiq also provided late fireworks, taking the side to the first-innings total of 153.

In response, Khoyihami Cricket Club struggled from the start as Gymkhana bowlers kept things tight and gave nothing away.

Off-spinner Adnan Amin then did the damage, taking 4 wickets for 33 runs in his 4 overs. Khoyihami CC was eventually bundled out for 113. Apart from Adnan, Aatif Ashiq, Aqib Bhat and Mohsin picked up two wickets each.

Bandipora Gymkhana is supported by Wardan Cloth House, Food Villa and Bhat Gas Shop.
