New York: The Men’s WarGames match at WWE Survivor Series 2025 ended with one of the biggest surprises of the night: the appearance of a mysterious man in black who attacked CM Punk and changed the outcome of the match.
Fans were initially led to believe that Seth Rollins was behind the attack, as the mysterious figure scaled the cage and executed a curb stomp reminiscent of Rollins’ signature move. This allowed Bron Breakker to spear Punk, securing victory for Breakker, Vision stablemates Bronson Reed and Logan Paul, Brock Lesnar, and Drew McIntyre.
However, according to Dave Meltzer on “Wrestling Observer Radio,” the masked attacker was not Rollins. Due to Rollins being out with injury, the attacker was in fact Austin Theory, who has been absent from WWE programming since the summer.
“It was Austin Theory,” Meltzer confirmed, echoing multiple reports linking Theory to the Vision stable.
Meltzer explained that WWE deliberately kept Theory’s identity a secret to establish him with impact:
“The deal is, number one, they want to establish the guy when he’s unmasked… He was originally going to be in the match. But they need to introduce him and have him do something really significant, or else it’s… it’s Austin Theory,” Meltzer said.
Theory’s shocking return immediately sets up new storylines within The Vision, providing a significant boost for his character and leaving fans eager for what comes next.
With Theory now back in the fold, the Vision stable appears poised for further dominance in WWE programming, while lingering tensions between Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns continue to headline WWE’s main event scene.
