Aslam refutes misleading statement regarding JKFA; “Shah & Co to facilitate elections”

Srinagar: Former J&K Football Association Chairman Wasim Aslam has refuted the statement pertaining to JKFA elections issued by the opposite party led by Fayaz Ahmad Sofi.
In a major update regarding JKFA elections, a Srinagar Court as per statement issued by Fayaz Sofi led group had directed Sports Council to make arrangements for JKFA elections and removed Aslam, Professor B A Shah and Nazir Andrabi as JKFA officials.

However, Aslam has termed the said statement as misleading and said that Court instead has authorised Professor B A Shah and Nazir Andrabi to conduct the electons and Honourable court will monitor the elections process .

“That the B.A Shah and Nazir Ahmad Andrabi who has been directed by the AIFF ,to conduct election for association, submit the report before this court by or before next date of hearing of the case, regarding the steps taken by them for conducting the election of office bearers of association,” Aslam quoted Court order.

Aslam also quoted order related to process to be conducted by Sports Council.

“The defendant secretary sports council is also directed to assist and facilitate, within the parameters of their mandate as per rules, the said persons regarding the steps to be taken for conducting the elections,” Aslam quoted Court order.

“They are at liberty to approach this court at any point of time, if they feel any assistance or clarification in the matter and are at liberty to furnish inputs in the course of proceedings, so as to take the election process to its logical conclusion,” Aslam further quoted Court order.
