Bandipora Gymkhana defeated Sunrisers Aragam by 5 wickets in their opening match of Harvest Hitters T20 Cup at Adnan Park on Saturday, thanks to Aqib Bhat’s all-round brilliance.
Batting first, Sunrisers Aragam put on a decent total of 146 runs on board. Dawood played a patient innings of 74 runs in 65 balls for them while Imran Haji was pick of the bowlers for Gymkhana with the figures of 4-0-28-2. Aqib Bhat also took 1 wicket while giving away only 21 runs in his 3 overs.
In reply, Bandipora Gymkhana comfortably chased down the total in 18.5 overs. Aqib made good-looking 58 off 46 balls to give team a good start. Later, Imran Haji made unbeaten 28 and Bilal Bhat struck 24 not out to see the team home.
Bandipora Gymkhana is a cricket club by the youth, for the youth, launched to give the district’s young talent a platform to showcase their skills.
