Kolkata Knight Riders skipper Dinesh Karthik has said that Andre Russell is special player after West Indian power hitting was again on display in an Indian premier League match against Mumbai India’s.
“Russell is a great player, he’s a special player and it’s good to see him grow as a player. The maturity he’s showing is great to see,” Karthik was quoted as saying.
Karthik was further quoted that he has told Russell that balls cost a lot and he need to show some calm.
“I was just talking about the same to him. These balls cost a lot and we need to ask him to keep calm. We live another day, that’s important and the crowd has been fantastic,” Karthik said.
KKR snapped a six-match losing streak with a 34-run win over Mumbai Indians at the Eden Gardens Sunday, days after questions were raised about Andre Russell’s batting position, with the West Indian power-hitter himself expressing a desire to bat higher at No. 4.
